Buyepongo magic
Buyepongo, an L.A.-based band known for their infectious Buyangu sound, has become a well-known name in the Los Angeles music scene. However, their musical repertoire extends far beyond cumbia. Buyepongo is a riotous fusion of influences, seamlessly blending hip-hop, punk, funk, and jazz into a deliriously infectious tropical mix that spans the rich tapestry of the Latin American culture.
This dynamic ensemble has shared the stage with musical heavyweights like Miguel, Ty Dolla Sign, Warren G, Common, Chicano Batman, Quantic, Ozomatli, Celso Piña, Os Mutantes, Sister Nancy, Dead Prez, Cut Chemist, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and Antibalas. Their performances have illuminated venues and festivals such as the El Rey Theater, Grand Performances, World Cafe Philadelphia, KEXP, The Fillmore, Tropicalia Music Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Grand Park, Levitt Pavilion's Summer Music Series, International Accordion Festival, and an SXSW Official Showcase in 2015.
Buyepongo's vibrant and eclectic sound continues to captivate audiences worldwide, making them a standout presence in the music industry.
